Thanks to Carrie’s wonderful and amazing mother, we have sorted out the hotel room block! We’ve blocked 20 rooms, May 29 and May 30, at the Clarion Hotel State Capital.
Details can be found on the Locations page. Â N.B.: the special group rate is only good through April 29, 2010, so book soon!
Yikes! I just found out that Animazement is May 28-30 at the Raleigh Convention Center. This means that getting hotel rooms at the Sheraton or Marriott downtown will be hard on Saturday. Should be fine on Sunday (the night of the actual wedding), because the con will be over by then, but if you are coming in Saturday night, we’ll be looking to block some rooms elsewhere for you.
If you’re an anime fan, though, you could combine con-going and wedding festivities!
Cooperation, working together!
As of yesterday, we’re cooperating with another couple getting married just before us in the same location, so that we can split the cost of renting the chairs.
I love this idea! We both need to rent about the same number of chairs, for use in the same location on the same day. Why not work together to save some money?
So thanks, Keith and Charity, for the great idea! (Yes, the other groom’s name is also Keith!)
Our reception will be at Café Luna, a great restaurant in downtown Raleigh.
Lots more pictures and details under the cut!

Here’s Keith’s ring (he photographed it himself).

Keith's ring
It’s a custom design from GreenKarat.com (who also made Carrie’s ring). Â The design represents the golden ratio, a proportion important in both mathematics and art. Â See also the explanation on the About Us page.
The metal is palladium white gold, a hypoallergenic alloy that’s the color of fine champagne. So it’s literally a golden ratio.
Carrie’s ring came in the other day. It’s 3 sapphires set in white gold. Carrie prefers these kind of gems to the more traditional diamond, so we went with something simple but striking.

There are virtually no photos of Carrie and me together, since I usually stay behind the lens, so we decided to take a quick formal portrait at the Rose Garden. It’s al pretty dead right now, but we found a little green corner under a magnolia tree. I set up a couple of lights and shot it on timer.

Carrie and I have decided to put up a page about the wedding to keep all the info in one place. I’ll edit it as more info becomes available.
